The WPCC Eldership has been prayerfully and diligently seeking God for a Lead Pastor over many months and we are confident that God has led John Richardson to our church. John has started his leadership in our church in April this year.
John and his wife, Johanna, come with a wealth of ministry experience, a great heart for God personally, and a desire to see people flourish in life and their service for God. One of John's emphases is that we serve God and each other right through the week, in all we do - not solely on Sundays as we meet together. John has been most recently working for Scripture Union as the Western Regional Coordinator, supervising School Chaplains, Holiday Mission programs, and Bible study material and aids for churches, study groups, etc. throughout the western suburbs of Melbourne and Victoria. Prior to this John and Johanna served together in a range of ministry and pastoral positions at Kardinia Christian Church here in Geelong for a period of around 15 years.
The Richardson family has three daughters - Amelia, Isabella, and Sophia, and they are already actively involved in our children's and youth programs. We welcome this beautiful family and this is a blessing to have them being part of our community.
The Waurn Ponds Community Church Eldership is excited to see Ps Steve & Cassie Abram, the Leadership/Oversight Team, and Momentum Christian Church move into autonomy and believe this is the next progression that will enable further growth and development within the Bannockburn area and beyond. The WPCC Eldership has worked alongside Ps Steve and the Leadership team towards this goal of autonomy and believes this is God’s direction for both communities.
We expect great things for the journey ahead and look forward to partnering together in new ways to see the Kingdom of God move forward in Bannockburn and the Golden Plains Shire.
We value your prayers as we work together toward autonomy.
